On Friday, October 27, a wonderful thing happened. A number of local bands held a benefit concert for Sandra at the Uptown in downtown Oakland. Participating bands included Placenta, Soul Broker, The Greenhouse Effect and Stonecutter. The event was a huge success, raising more than $600 for Sandra's medical fund.

I attended, and it was heartwarming to see so many people out to celebrate Sandra and to show her support.

Thank you to everyone who participated, and special thanks to Rachael Yellow of Placenta who came up with the idea for the fundraiser. She made it happen.
